My hearing loss in itself has only forced me to sit at the front of every class I take.. I was abused by my father in every way (Though this incident was the final blow in my parents’ marriage). My father struck me upside the head with a closed palm, this forced a concussion wave soaring through my ear canal and nowhere to go but shooting around in the enclosed area. The concussed me, and I quickly passed out. It was several weeks before I was able to look at my father and I still flinch when he raises his hand. At school was worst though. Any time a student made a sudden movement, especially in my peripheral vision, I flinched violently, this didn’t go over well in lunch environments, or physical education classes. Any time something was thrown, or a teacher whipped around to glare down a dysfunctional class I flinched, I leaned away, I shrunk into as small a being I possibly could. The psychological damages made me fear raising my hand, or talking to people, or doing anything that brought upon a action and/or reaction. So I never asked questions when I had them, I never got to inquire as to why some theories worked and some didn’t in physics, no answers as to what equations matched what formulas and vice versa.
